Developed by the internationally acclaimed art collective teamLab, in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi transcends the conventional museum visit. Here, artworks are not static entities confined within frames or pedestals. Instead, they are dynamic and fluid, brought to life through a captivating interplay of light, sound, and movement. These are living, breathing artistic expressions that exist in a constant state of flux, their forms and behaviours influenced by their surroundings and, most notably, by the presence and actions of the guests themselves.

Toshiyuki Inoko, the visionary Founder of teamLab, eloquently articulated the philosophy behind this groundbreaking project. He explained, "The artworks in teamLab Phenomena do not exist independently but are created by the environment. Even if people immerse themselves physically into the artwork, the artwork will remain intact, capable of naturally restoring itself even if disrupted. However, when the environment is not sustained, the artwork will disappear. The boundaries of the artwork are ambiguous and continuous with the environment."
