Etihad Expands Network with 10 New Destinations Starting July 2025
Etihad Airways has announced the addition of 10 new destinations to its global network, connecting Abu Dhabi to key cities across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. Starting July 2025, the airline will introduce routes to Atlanta, Taipei, Medan, Phnom Penh, Krabi, Tunis, Chiang Mai, Hong Kong, Hanoi, and Algiers.
These locations were strategically chosen to meet the growing demand from tourists and residents traveling between these regions and the UAE. Etihad will also become the sole provider of non-stop flights from Abu Dhabi to many of these destinations, offering unmatched convenience.
“For several of these cities, ours will be the only non-stop flight from the UAE. For example, travelers to Medan in North Sumatra will have no other direct flight options outside Abu Dhabi,” said Arik De Chief, Etihad’s Revenue and Commercial Officer.
Strengthened Connections to Europe
Etihad is optimizing its network to enhance connections between Asia and Europe. Arik highlighted the strategic importance of routes like Hanoi to Paris, noting the strong historical and cultural ties between Vietnam and France.
“Etihad offers the fastest connectivity in the region, making it easier for passengers to travel between Asia and Europe,” he added.
North African Routes to Serve Growing Communities
The introduction of flights to Tunis and Algiers is expected to significantly benefit the tens of thousands of residents from these countries living in the UAE.
“We’re thrilled about Tunis and Algiers. Abu Dhabi alone is home to over 25,000 Algerians and approximately 47,000 Tunisians, many of whom currently rely on connecting flights via other airlines. With these new routes, they will now have a faster and more direct option,” Arik explained.
Etihad will launch three weekly flights to Tunis on November 1, 2025, followed by four weekly flights to Algiers on November 7, 2025.
Expanding in the U.S.
Starting July 2, 2025, Etihad will introduce four weekly flights to Atlanta, its fifth direct U.S. destination after New York, Washington, Chicago, and Boston.
“Atlanta is a major U.S. city with no existing non-stop flights from the UAE. This bold move solidifies our commitment to serving the Northern seaboard,” Arik stated.
Record-Breaking Growth Anticipated
Etihad forecasts 2025 to be its most successful year yet, expecting to carry over 19 million passengers across 90+ destinations, compared to 10 million passengers and 64 destinations in 2022. The airline will also expand its fleet to 115 aircraft, up from the current 95 planes.
“With a 6% year-on-year increase in profits and sustainable growth, we’re bigger and stronger than ever before,” said Antonaldo Neves, Etihad’s Chief Executive.
Enhanced European Operations
Etihad is heavily investing in its European network, increasing capacity by 40% in 2024 and planning an additional 36% in 2025.
“A year and a half ago, we operated just one flight daily to Heathrow. Today, we offer two daily flights to most major European cities,” Neves noted.
Current European destinations include Moscow, Dublin, London, Brussels, Munich, Frankfurt, Paris, Geneva, Zurich, Milan, Rome, Barcelona, Athens, and Madrid.
This robust expansion allows Etihad to unlock opportunities in the Eastern network while strengthening its presence in Europe and North America.
